L’auteur attribue au supramental un rôle d’agent directeur auprès de l’homme en évolution.
Ainsi, l’œuvre de Bernard de Montréal est d’abord synonyme d’une froideur de la pensée, voire de son retrait, d’un coup de massue à l’encontre de tout ce qui, selon lui, peut nous rattacher au
sentimentalisme que nous accordons à la connaissance, à la spiritualité, tant nouvelle qu’ancienne, et aux « systèmes de croyance involutifs ».
